Whale Watching 2012: AB Pod
So I ended up going back through my photos from my whale watching trip in the Kenai Fjords from 2012, and I realized I saw a lot more orcas than I thought I did. I’m so much better at identifying wild orcas now and it was exciting to go back through and ID individuals that I had missed the first time.
All IDs are left to right, and ages given are their current ages (though these photos are 2 years old):
Photo #1: AB45 Oliver Twist, Gage (no ID number yet) and his mother AB50 Fleming, and AB53 Evans and her calf AB66 Steiner.
Photo #2: AB50 Fleming, 18 year old female, mother to 2 calves.
Photo #3: AB60 Sebrika, 11 year old female.
Photo #4: Most likely 6 year old AB65 Isleib following his/her mother AB53 Evans and sibling Gage (newborn in this photo, currently 2 years old).
Photo #5: 16 year old AB54 Irish and her 38 year old brother AB35 Harold Kalve.
Photo #6: Gage and mother AB50 Fleming.
Photo #7: AB43 Eshamy, 26 year old male.
Photo #8: AB35 Harold Kalve.
