When Keiko died, pro-caps were quick to say that the whole project was a failure. They said that releasing captive killer whales was a bad idea. But don’t you think it was better that Keiko died in the wide open ocean as a free whale instead of a prisoner in a concrete box? He got to experience the wild again. He knew what freedom felt like. He even got to swim with pods of wild whales! He swam from Iceland to Norway by himself. He got to live the life of a true killer whale again. In my book, that is a compete success.
